Motorkhanas are run by the Fiat Car Club at Ansell Park, Richmond (Sydney west) The Volvo Sporting Car Club joins their events. The Fiat Car club calendar for Motorkhanas for 2008 is below.

This is a great event guys. It’s very well run and the Fiat Club members have made us very welcome on the two occasions we have run with them. We share officials with them and we stick strictly to the CAMS guidelines for running these events so safety is a big issue.
To date this event has been poorly attended. Where are all you motorsport people??... we need to get behind this event big time!!
If we lose this venue the Volvo Club’s motorkhanas may well become a dim memory and a lot of kids (large and small) will miss out on some sound driver training and some fun as well.
As you know the hours the ‘kids’ must now do to obtain their licence has doubled. Terry Thompson is working with CAMS to put a proposal to the RTA to allow any hours ’ticked up’ at Motorkhanas to be taken into account when the required hours are logged. This is by no means a foregone conclusion, but I’m betting that if we can do our bit to lift entrant numbers this would go some of the way to convincing the RTA that the proposal has merit.
Start canvassing family and friends to get their kids involved. It won’t take much; just a phone call or two. Your kids’ or grandkids’ school friends would be a good place to start. Let’s resurrect some of that old Volvo spirit and help to get this proposal up and running.
Sorry for the lecture folks, but until you’ve sat in the middle of the paddock getting ‘dusted’, rained on, frozen to the bone, almost run over and almost bitten on the bum by the frog under the toilet seat, (do frog’s bite?) you haven’t lived. So, I feel well qualified to play crusader on this issue.
