As a Swede that have been living the last 12 winters in Australia I am proud to introduce you to my soulmate for the last ten years, Betty the Volvo 240 GL Wagon the coolest car in the world!

She has been most faithful and very much cared for. She has got serviced every 10000kms and mostly by A-class automotive in Revesby. She has a bit over 300000kms so she is barely run in.

• She runs like a dream and always starts
• She pulls strongly in 5 gear and drinks moderately(8l/100kms). Thanks to her manual gearbox she gets work at the revs she likes best and it's easy to drive her nicely.
• The clutch bites strongly and has been replaced. 
• Through the corners to Mt Hotham she handles well for a brick thanks to uprated bushings and strong chocks. 
• Steering is direct with a replaced steering rod.
• She rides on good quality rubber on the virgo 15" wheels. Also easy to get tires in the common 195/60R15 dimension.
• I have fixed the seats so they are nicely firm and I brought a leather sleeve for the gear stick from Sweden.
• Rear lights are upgraded too. 
• For the adventure minded is good to know that she is sporting 500 Watts of lights forward(not fog lights included) and a metal bash plate underneath.
• For extra style she is equipped with a nice chrome grill from the 264 model.
• The safety minded will be happy to hear that seat belts has been upgraded and that pads are biting hard on the brakes. Of course she has protective webbing to stop cargo hitting back of your head.
• She also have a 5 spare alloy wheel should you need to replace a blown tire. Of course the 5 wheel have contemporary tire. All wheels are nice and straight.

The car is being sold as we have purchased a new car and no longer have the room for it. This is a great car and worth a look at if you needed a second car or a car for your children as it is super safe and reliable. There are cheaper 740 Volvo's out there but this car has had a lot of money spent on it over the years to keep it in tip top mechanical condition. The aircon has been overhauled to take the new gas used in modern systems. Power steering, this car can turn on a dime, auto and solid built to last and last.

The car is not perfect bodily as it has a couple of small marks but it is otherwise excellent for its age. The interior is in excellent condition and very clean. Carpets are like new as they have always been covered with mats. No rust in the body panels as they are galvanised from new.
